[Watch] Tekken 7 PS4 Shows Off Akuma In New Gameplay Video

Although Tekken 7 is still a few months away from release, several PlayStation 4 gameplay videof have started emerging online. One footage uploaded by the Game Clips And Tips YouTube Channel showed intense fights between Akuma and Katarina, with a battle against Lili right after.

The Tekken 7 footage is only three minutes long but it showcased how combat movements have improved since the last game. It looks the same at first glance but as the match goes on, the changes become noticeable, especially at the second round between Akuma and Lili.

Akuma From Street Fighter

The unique thing here is that Akuma is originally from the Street Fighter series and having him on Tekken 7 is a different sight to see. This could mean that developer Bandai Namco Entertainment plans on adding other characters from other games to its roster.

Both fights in the footage looked one-sided as Akuma had the lead most of the time. The first bout was a battle between two red-heads and it showed Akuma’s low and long-range attacks.

The fight did not take long as Akuma emerged victorious in just a couple of seconds. He ended the first round against Katarina with a grapple move, striking Katarina’s back.

The second round was also the same as Akuma attacked with spinning aerial kicks and some grapples. He also won the second round against Katarina. Then, Lili — a new challenger –appeared.

It seems that the fight between Akuma and Lili was used to feature Akuma’s moves since Lili barely attacked. Akuma’s moves from Street Fighter are noticeable, especially his uppercut. Like his previous match, he owned Lili from the beginning and won both rounds without breaking a sweat.

Facts About Akuma

According to the Street Fighter Wiki, Akuma means “Fortitude,” “Great Demon,” “Great Devil” or “Great Ogre.” He is one of the main antagonists in the Street Fighter series who made his first appearance in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

The “Great Demon” wears the same gi with sleeves removed similar to Ken and Ryu except that it is dark-colored. He has his signature red hair perfect for the meaning of his name. He has tanned skin and crimson eyes that match with his hair.

The “Great Ogre” has Goutetsu’s prayer beads around his neck with the visible black heaven kanji in the center bead. He is only one of the playable characters to be expected in the game’s roster. According to VG247, the game will come out on June 2, 2017, for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
