[Watch] Valkyria Revolution Gameplay & Demo Show Home Base & Battle System

Sega leaked new trailers of Valkyria Revolution to give the fans a peek on what to expect. Here’s a rundown of the gameplay and new features based on the demo.

The game is an action role-playing game (RPG) developed by Media. Revolution is a spinoff of the original Valkyria series. The story begins after the country of Jutland is occupied by Rus. The empire wants to widen its reach by colonizing other territories. With the help of the azure mineral Ragnite, the empire can expand its energy resources.

While the occupation is slowly depleting the village’s natural resources, Jutland wants to fight back and reclaim their land. In the game, players will assume the role of Amleth, officer-in-command of Jutlands anti-Valkyria unit. In addition, Princess Ophelia and Brynhildr are other playable characters in the game.

Valkyria Revolution Battle System And Battle Flow

The video above features the battle system and its battle flow. By going through the Battle Palette, players can pause to strategize. Furthermore, the menu lets the gamer look at the moves of other units. While other classes can be used for support, others are best for incurring damage to enemies.

The next Valkyria Revolution video features Elsinore. Players can replenish materials, equipment and everything needed for battle. Furthermore, soldiers can prepare for the next mission here. On the other hand, gamers can also customize characters and interact in Elsinore.

Development

Valkyria is a little bit different because its underlying theme is death. The studio decided to fuse this theme in the game to illicit the feeling of fear. Some deaths are permanent in the game. In addition, new story arcs in the game will not appear until a character dies in the game.

The studio aims to motivate the gamer to keep the characters alive. Furthermore, developers would like to add an easy mode. The goal is to water down some of the obstacles that the user faces in the game.

Valkyria Revolution will be available in Japan on January 19, 2017 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Meanwhile, it will be released in other countries in the second quarter of 2017.
