Xbox One EA Access Now Includes Skate 3: Here’s What We Know

Skate 3 is the third installment to the Skate series by Electronic Arts Black Box. The game was published by Electronic Arts (EA) last 2010 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Now, the game will join EA Access for the Xbox One.

Skate 3 happens in the city of Port Caverton. The fictional city has three districts: Downtown, the University, and Industrial, where players can skate and grind. Each district has its own unique design and architecture wherein players may choose to ride their skate boards in. Downtown has a lot of rigid ledges and rails, the University has many banks and open areas, and Industrial has a big quarry that has bricks of stones.

Renewed Popularity and Joining EA Access

In recent news, Skate 3 joins EA Access, a paid-for subscription program exclusive on Xbox One. In addition to this, fans expect the game to have a fourth main installment. This is all due to the fact that the game has gained renewed interest and popularity because of YouTubers in the likes of PewDiePie playing the game. Subsequently, players asked that EA Black Box make the game Xbox One backwards compatible. The game did make it to Xbox One. Now, EA is offering fans a new method of getting the game.

Other Platforms?

The game is now available in EA Access Vault offering a list of games for only $4.99 a month. Along with the game are Star Wars Battlefront, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Madden NFL 17, and many others which are included in the list. However, the game has not yet joined the PC version of EA Access which is Origin Access. This is given by the fact that the game was never released on PC.

It is still vague as to whether or not the game will be re-released on the PS4. Sony does not have EA Access but they do offer access to PS3 games via PlayStation Now’s streaming service. The service now offers games likeMass Effect 2 and Mirror’s Edge.

Skate 4?

Fans speculate that EA Black Box may be doing this update because they want to test if the Skate series would still do good in the market. The company denied that they are developing Skate 4 but this recent announcement hyped the fans up. The valid question of whether the company will create a next installment and put large amounts of money to the game for a new version still exists.
