Xbox Scorpio Price To Boast Console Price-Point: Details Here

The Xbox Scorpio is the newest Xbox console product. Microsoft first announced it at the E3 2016 event. The device will feature more powerful hardware and seamless software according to Microsoft. Microsoft has claimed a lot of prices for it but they have not yet announced the final price. But it seems that the gaming console may not be as expensive as some may have speculated. Microsoft will release the device during the holiday season of this year.

The Xbox Scorpio is a premium product by Microsoft that has a price-point that it deserves. However, it will cost more than the present Xbox One S console. In an interview with AusGamers, Phil Spencer, the present head of Xbox, talked about their goals in the device’s price. He said that, “Like, I want Scorpio to be at a console price-point, I’m not trying to go and compete with a high-end rig.” He added that, “because we’re building one spec, we’re able to look at the balance between all the components and make sure that it’s something we really hit that matters to consumers and gamers.”

Price Assumptions

On another note, to be able to assume the possible “price-point” that Spencer is talking about, it is safe to compare the Xbox Scorpio price with other products. The PS4 Pro costs $399 and the original Xbox One with Kinect is worth $499. Scorpio may be priced within that span.

$449.99 could be its most expensive rate. $599 is not a competitive price so Microsoft may not want to sell it at that specific range. An expensive console is less likely to be bought by consumers.

Spencer has also announced via Twitter that aside from the hardware, some games and the operating system as well as the user interface are already on the works. He also said in an interview with The Verge that Scorpio will feel like a new generation because of its graphical fidelity. Spencer thinks that the upgrade of the device is in terms of visual fidelity which is a dramatic change “as we’re used to seeing in new generations.”
