The release of Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild inches closer but this is probably not how Nintendo wanted things to play out. More details about the game are coming to light after leaks plague the gaming giant. The latest flood of intel has given Zelda fans an unsanctioned look into the game. Spoilers and leaks have spread across the internet like wildfire over the past few days.
Last month’s gamers were able to download Zelda Breath of The Wild files online after a massive breach. A variety of images of weapons, costumes, armor and so on has been made public. Today, Kotaku notes that the “floodgates have flown wide open.”
Over YouTube, thousands have been able to stream Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild. This is because multiple channels and videos have begun releasing critical gameplay information. To add to days of spoilers, images of items, enemies and game objects are quickly circulating online. The amount of data available makes it likely more specific plot spoilers will pop up soon.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Wii U Version
IGN has reported that the Wii U version of the game seems to have leaked online with a lot of in-depth details. The leak reportedly began on 4Chan and made its way across social media, Reddit forums, and NeoGAF.
A compressed version of the game has been spotted online but is currently not playable. My Nintendo News reports that fans have begun learning more about the game by tinkering with the files. Gamers have been able to get a first look at the content that hasn’t been released in trailers or official footage. Leaks have included high-quality images that include the game’s title screen making it likely the spoilers are real.
As it stands, the post and details about the upcoming game have multiplied exponentially. However, it’s important to note that while some of the leaks appear to be genuine, there are others that cannot be verified at this point in time.
With this, for those who are beside themselves and interested in what the leaks say, take all the material with a grain of salt. There are opportunists who will take advantage of the mass curiosity and proliferate “fake” spoilers.
Nintendo’s Leaky History
The leak is a massive blow to Nintendo who has been had at work on the title. The game maker has touted the title to be its biggest game release of the year. Unfortunately, the title has been, at least partially, pirated and now available on Wii U.
This is not the first time this has happened to Nintendo, recalls Kotaku. Last year, its other big title, Pokemon Sun and Moon, was leaked and pirated ahead of the official release.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches for the Wii U and the Switch on March 3, 2017.
